Project Delivery & Owner's Engineering

Wasleys Biomethane Facility

Owner's engineering and project management for an ARENA co-funded facility turning piggery effluent into renewable biomethane for the gas network.

The Challenge

The SunPork piggery at Wasleys in South Australia produces effluent that releases methane as it breaks down. LMS Energy's facility captures that biogas and upgrades it to biomethane clean enough to go into the Australian Gas Networks system.

Our Response

Amarna provides owner's engineering and project management support to LMS Energy for the facility. It uses a 20 ML covered anaerobic lagoon and membrane-based biogas upgrading to produce network-quality biomethane.

The Impact

The facility targets around 36.4 TJ of biomethane a year and more than 18,000 tonnes of CO2-e abatement annually. It is co-funded by ARENA.
