Rows of server racks in a data centre hall

Markets

Data Centres

Power supply, backup generation, cooling and fuel systems for data centres and other critical facilities.

Overview

We support developers, owners and operators of data centres, where power supply, backup generation and cooling have to work every time.

Our work covers high-voltage supply and on-site power, backup generation and fuel systems, battery storage, and the mechanical systems that keep halls cool.

We also help clients assess lower-emission options for backup and on-site power, including renewable fuels, hydrogen and battery storage.

What we do

How we support this market

  1. 01Feasibility and power supply options studies
  2. 02Electrical and power systems engineering
  3. 03Backup generation, fuel storage and fuel system design
  4. 04Cooling, airflow and thermal modelling
  5. 05Owner's engineer and independent design review
  6. 06Commissioning and performance testing

Where we add value

Data centres are built fast and run without a break. We bring the same engineering discipline we apply to high-hazard energy projects, so interfaces between power, fuel and cooling are designed and tested before they cause problems on site.

Our modelling capability lets us check airflow, heat and dispersion on the actual design, not just rules of thumb.
