Engineering & Design

KETH Liquid Hydrogen Plant

Design of hydrogen production, compression, liquefaction and dispensing for a future liquid hydrogen facility at Kwinana.

The Challenge

Liquid hydrogen is denser and easier to move in bulk than compressed gas, but producing and handling it at around minus 253 °C brings its own engineering challenges. FEnEx CRC is planning a facility at Kwinana to develop that capability.

Our Response

Engaged through Pacific Energy, Amarna is carrying out all of the design work for the facility's hydrogen production, compression, liquefaction and dispensing.

The Impact

One engineering team responsible for the whole process design, from hydrogen production through to liquid hydrogen dispensing.

Key deliverables

  • Hydrogen production design
  • Compression and liquefaction design
  • Dispensing design
